Endangered Art Fund

We are working on the preservation of the Venice Beach Poetry Monuments, and we support In Creative Unity’s efforts to preserve and extend the  Venice Public Art Walls (Formerly Grafitti Pit). We also see that the Local Artist decorated beach benches need repairs. Art Tiles At Venice Beach Click Here to Contact Us.

Click the photo below to see more photos of the Venice Beach Poetry Walls, illustrating the erosion due to water blasting by grafitti removal crews.  We are fundraising to restore these.

Venice Arts Council has restored murals in Venice (see Channel 4 News VIDEO ).  Click photos to see more. With the help and cooperation of many we completed restoration of the Endangered Species Mural several years ago.

The Venice Neighborhood Council voted to award $20,000 to Nathan Zakheim Associates  for materials to restore the Jaya mural in the Canals and the Endangered Species mural on Venice Beach (pictured above). Endangered Art Fund Sponsors include: Venice Neighborhood Council, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl, Whole Foods Market,  Office of Community Beautification City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works, Don Geagan, Abbot Kinney District Association, Park Plaza Partnership, Switch Studios, Voice of the Canals, Schonbrun DeSimone Seplow Harris & Hoffman LLP, Patricia Greenfield, and other generous individuals and Venice businesses. Thanks to our generous supporters, we have restored the Jaya mural. The Endangered Species mural was restored in 2008 by ICU Art (In Creative Unity).

However the Endangered Species Mural has suffered greatly from tagging and grafitti during the pandemic. There is currently construction going on adjacent to the location and we will do the restoration after that is finished.

Below is a video about the Jaya Mural. This mural has been restored at least twice and is currently in need of another restoration due to portions of the wall decomposing.
